What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a structured training programme that combines paid work with study. Apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for their role through a combination of on-the-job training and off-the-job learning.

Apprenticeships are open to both new recruits and existing staff of any age. They are a highly effective way to nurture talent and ensure your workforce is fully equipped to meet the demands of your sector.

Why Hire an Apprentice?

Apprenticeships offer numerous benefits for employers of all sizes:

  • Build a Skilled Workforce: Training is tailored to your industry and specific job roles.
  • Increase Retention: Apprentices who feel supported and invested in are more likely to remain with your organisation.
  • Boost Productivity: Apprentices bring new perspectives, up-to-date practices, and enthusiasm to your team.
  • Cost-Effective Training: Government funding and incentives can significantly reduce the cost of training.
  • Future-Proof Your Organisation: Address skills shortages and prepare for growth by developing talent in-house.

Tailored Apprenticeships to Suit Your Needs

Our programmes are designed with both the employer and apprentice in mind. We work closely with you to:

  • Identify the right apprenticeship standard for your needs
  • Develop a bespoke training plan aligned to your organisation’s goals
  • Deliver training in a flexible and supportive way—on-site, online, or a mix of both
  • Ensure apprentices are supported every step of the way, with regular reviews and progress updates

What Are Apprenticeship Standards?

Apprenticeship Standards are the nationally recognised frameworks that define what an apprentice needs to know, understand, and be able to do in their role. Developed by employers and approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE), these standards ensure that apprenticeship training is relevant, consistent, and of the highest quality across all sectors.

Each standard outlines:

  • The knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) required for the specific job role
  • The duration of the apprenticeship
  • Entry requirements and qualifications needed
  • Details of the End-Point Assessment (EPA), which is the final stage used to confirm the apprentice is occupationally competent

Why It Matters to Employers

By following Apprenticeship Standards, you can be confident that:

  • Your apprentices are being trained to an industry-recognised level
  • The learning directly supports their day-to-day job role
  • The skills being developed will add real value to your organisation
  • Training providers (like us) are held to consistent and high-quality delivery benchmarks

We ensure that all apprenticeship programmes we deliver are fully aligned to the latest approved standards and are regularly reviewed to stay up to date with sector needs.
