We love a success story – read about Victoria.
I started my Level 2 Apprenticeship Diploma in Adult Care at The Chimes Residential Home in Penkhull. I had not been in care for very long and needed to develop my knowledge and skills further and this was the ideal opportunity to do this. I was given Tracy as my assessor and I discussed with her my Dyslexia and struggles with writing and she reassured me that she would give me extra support with my assignments.
After 6 months I left The Chimes and moved to Scotia Heights and Tracy was more than happy to follow me to my new employer. E.Quality Training worked behind the scenes to communicate with my new employer to change over my funding to them to enable me to continue with my training.
Tracy continued to visit me monthly, at work, to carry out observations and paperwork with me. In between these monthly face to face meetings Tracy and I carried out additional Zoom meetings so she could support me to complete my assignments and this support was invaluable to me as I don’t think I could have completed them as well without the support of Tracy.
Once my Diploma was completed Tracy supported me to prepare for my End Point Assessment exam, even completing a mock professional discussion with me early in the morning of my actual exam to make sure I was ready and prepared. I achieved a MERIT!!!!
I have learned so much whilst completing my Diploma and I can’t believe how much information I have gained and maintained. This helped me immensely when I had an interview for the NHS and I was offered a position immediately with them. I answered all of their questions confidently and was surprised at how much information about care that I actually remembered. I now work at Cheadle Hospital as a Healthcare Assistant. I have also had talks with the NHS and have now started my Nursing Associate Training.
I have come such a long way since meeting Tracy and E.Quality Training. I had no experience or knowledge and now I feel I have the knowledge I need to work in care and the confidence to deal with situations with residents and patients as they arise as I know from experience and knowledge what to do correctly to support them. I understand a lot more about legislation, codes of practice, standards, policies and procedures, agreed ways of working, Safeguarding, Whistle Blowing, Duty of Care, Duty of Candour, Person-Centred Approaches and lots more!
Tracy was actually present at my interview at The Chimes so she has been with me every step of the way of my Care Journey.
We at E.Quality Training are proud to have supported Victoria through her qualification and see her develop into her new role. Good luck for the future!
